The procedure does not normally require anaesthesia; if it does, local anaesthesia is used only with a special cream.

What is the process of vein removal with IPL?
IPL's high dose of light energy, which is converted to heat energy in the tissue, directly binds to the blood pigment hemoglobin, and this causes the removal of red veins. Before the actual IPL treatment, a cool protective gel is applied to your skin and your eyes are protected with goggles. Then the intensity is adjusted to an intensity that is tolerable for you. During the IPL treatment itself, you feel only a slight pinch. After the treatment, your skin may be red. We use BTL POSTLIGHT to help your skin recover and calm down faster.
