Counselling for venereal diseases

Sexually transmitted diseases, also known as sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), are a group of infectious diseases that are spread primarily through sexual contact. The most well-known STDs include chlamydia, gonorrhoea, syphilis, herpes, HIV/AIDS and human papillomavirus (HPV). These diseases can have serious effects on an individual's health and, if left untreated, can lead to chronic health problems or even death.

Early diagnosis and treatment of STDs are key to preventing complications and the spread of infection to others. Many STDs can be asymptomatic in the early stages, meaning that the infected person may not show any symptoms and may unknowingly infect their partners.

Private testing and confidentiality

At Elizabeth Beauty Clinic, we provide expert health advice and support, including sexual health and STD prevention consultations.

Private testing offers the benefit of high confidentiality, ensuring that your personal information and test results remain confidential. In addition, you can rely on fast processing of results, which allows for a quicker response and initiation of possible treatment compared to traditional testing in hospitals. Thanks to modern diagnostic methods and fast processing of results, we are able to provide timely and effective treatment.

What are sexually transmitted diseases (STDs)?

Chlamydia: A bacterial infection that often runs its course without symptoms, but without treatment can lead to serious reproductive problems.

Gonorrhea: A bacterial infection that targets the lining of the genitals, but can spread to other parts of the body.

Syphilis: An infectious disease with several stages that can cause serious health complications if not treated.

HIV: Human immunodeficiency virus, which attacks the immune system and can lead to AIDS if not controlled with treatment.

HPV: Human papillomavirus, which can cause genital warts and is linked to the risk of certain types of cancer.

Sexually transmitted infections, also known as sexually transmitted infections (STIs), are infections that are spread mainly through sexual contact.

We work with state-of-the-art equipment that ensures maximum accuracy and reliability of the examination. We always strive to create a comfortable, respectful environment where the client feels safe and well informed.

How testing is done

Consultation
The whole process starts with a discreet consultation with a dermatovenereologist. The doctor will explain what the testing involves and suggest the appropriate types of tests based on your medical history.

Sample collection
Sampling is quick, gentle and tailored to your needs. Samples are taken from blood, urine or swabs depending on the type of test. The entire process is done in a discreet environment and with your comfort in mind.

Results
Results are usually available within a few working days. Once we have them, we will arrange a consultation with you. The doctor will explain everything to you in a clear manner and, if necessary, suggest further steps or treatment.

Privacy and comfort
We take discretion for granted - you have a separate waiting room and your own bathroom. You make an appointment for a precise time, without waiting and unnecessary stress. The whole process is set up to make you feel safe, comfortable and with the utmost respect.

Preparation for the examination

When testing for urogenital chlamydia and gonorrhoea, the recommended procedure is according to the type of sexual intercourse at risk. Testing can be performed either from the first stream of morning urine, ideally brought in a sterile tube, or from the first stream of urine collected two hours after the last urination.

Alternatively, the examination can be performed by urethral swabbing when the patient has not urinated that day. In the case of risky active oral or passive anal intercourse, the examination is performed by swabbing the throat and rectum. Before this test, it is important not to brush your teeth, eat, drink, smoke, chew gum or go to the toilet on the morning of the test. For women, it is recommended not to use intravaginal globules the day before the urine test.

Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP)

What is PrEP?

PrEP is a preventive treatment that protects against HIV infection. It is taken in pill form and greatly reduces the risk of transmission in people who are more exposed to the virus - for example, if they have an HIV-positive partner or have frequent unprotected sex. It is for those who do not have HIV but want to actively protect themselves.

Benefits of PrEP:

PrEP is very effective when used correctly - it reduces the risk of getting HIV by up to 99%. It protects not only during sex, but also people who inject drugs. It's another layer of protection alongside condoms and allows you to take an active role in your health.

PrEP Effectiveness:

Regular use of the drug as recommended by a healthcare professional is key to achieving maximum effectiveness. PrEP provides effective protection and is an important tool in the fight against the spread of HIV. If you choose to take PrEP, our doctors may prescribe the medication and will continue to monitor you to ensure your safety and the effectiveness of your treatment. We also offer regular checkups and tests, which are important to monitor your health while taking PrEP.

A consultation with a physician is required before starting PrEP. During this appointment, we will assess your individual needs and medical condition to determine if PrEP is right for you.

Prevention of venereal disease (VD)

Prevention is key to the health of all of us. Unmanaged PN can lead to serious problems such as infertility, chronic pain or cancer. It is important to protect not only yourself, but also your partners and contribute to the health of the whole community.

Safe sex
Safe sex practices help reduce the risk of disease transmission. They include protection, recognising symptoms and knowing when to see a doctor. Protective methods such as condoms can greatly reduce the risk of infection.

Regular testing
Regular testing for STDs is important because some infections may not have symptoms. Quick detection means quick treatment and less spread of infection. Communication with partners about testing is also important for everyone's safety.

Using condoms
Condoms are one of the best methods of protection against STDs. If you use them correctly and always use a new condom, you greatly reduce the risk of transmitting HIV, gonorrhea, chlamydia and other diseases.

HPV vaccination
Vaccination helps protect against the most dangerous strains of the virus that can cause cancer. It is recommended for both men and women, ideally before sexual activity, but is also useful afterwards. Consult your doctor about when it is appropriate for you.

At the Elizabeth Beauty Concept clinic, I underwent BioRepeel, which is the application of a special solution using microneedling - microneedling. I underwent a total of 3 rounds of treatment. The treatment was a bit painful, but it was bearable. After the application, you feel a burning sensation for a while and for the next 2 days your skin feels tight, similar to sunburn. After a few days, the skin starts to peel off and within about, 7 to 10 days you are done - new, soft, smooth skin. The result then continues to improve over the following weeks as the microneedling encourages collagen production. I saw the final result after about 6 weeks. I definitely recommend this treatment. It reduces increased skin pigmentation, fine lines, renews the skin, brightens it and rejuvenates it overall. Plus you are in great hands with MUDr. Pavlíčková 🙂
