Blepharoplasty
The eyes are the window to the soul, but they are also the area where signs of aging or fatigue are most often seen. Droopy upper eyelids can cause not only an aesthetic problem, but also functional problems such as narrowing of the field of vision. Bags under the eyes, in turn, give the face a tired and aged look. At Elizabeth Beauty Concept, we offer a solution in the form of blepharoplasty, a surgical procedure that effectively rejuvenates the eye area and restores a refreshed appearance.
What is blepharoplasty?
Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure that removes excess skin, fatty excisions, and possibly some muscle from the upper and/or lower eyelids. The goal is to achieve a naturally rejuvenated appearance, remove signs of fatigue and, in the case of the upper eyelids, improve vision. The procedure is performed by an experienced specialist in the field.

Who is the procedure suitable for?
Blepharoplasty is ideal for women and men who:
- Have droopy upper eyelids with excess skin that may overlap the eyelashes or restrict vision.
- They suffer from "bags" or puffiness under the eyes.
- Have significant skin excess and wrinkles on the lower eyelids.
- They want to achieve a more youthful and rested appearance of the eye area.
- They are in overall good health and have realistic expectations.

How does the procedure work?
The first step is a personal consultation with our expert, often directly with Elizabeth Pavlíčková, MD, PhD, or a specialist in the procedure. We will assess the condition of your eyelids, discuss your expectations, explain the course of surgery, anesthesia options, and post-operative care.
2. Preoperative preparation.
3. The procedure itself: surgery is usually performed under local anaesthesia, often supplemented by analgosedation for your maximum comfort. The incisions are made very precisely in the natural folds of the eyelids (on the upper eyelid in the crease, on the lower eyelid just below the lashes or from the inside of the eyelid) so that the resulting scars are minimally visible. The doctor removes a precisely measured amount of skin, fat and muscle if necessary. The wounds are then carefully sutured with fine sutures. The entire procedure takes approximately 1-2 hours, depending on the extent (upper, lower or both eyelids).
4. Post-operative care: After the procedure, cool compresses and coverings are applied to the eyes. You can expect swelling and bruising, which is common and will gradually subside over a few days to weeks. It is important to rest and follow the doctor's instructions. Stitches are usually removed in 5-7 days.

Recovery and results
Postoperative swelling and bruising are most pronounced in the first few days after surgery and gradually subside. Most clients can return to normal office activities after about a week, with full physical activity recommended after a few weeks. The final result of the surgery - a rejuvenated, refreshed and rested appearance of the eye area - is visible once the swelling has completely resolved, usually within a few weeks to months. The effect of blepharoplasty is long-lasting, lasting for many years even as the natural aging process continues.
